We were pleased to welcome leading UK publishers to Criteo UK Publisher Exec Connect on Thursday 26th April 2018 in London. Held at swanky private members’ venue Century Club in Soho on Shaftesbury Avenue, attendees were treated to a delicious breakfast and rooftop views over the city.
We took a look at Criteo Direct Bidder one year later (now live with 2,000 publishers), what to expect from GDPR, heard from a key early adopter Adam Leslie, Head of Commercial Operations for Metro.co.uk, and opened up the floor to hear from our publishers on what’s next.
Three key learnings were:
1. No Consensus in Header Bidding.
With publishers using a hybrid of client-side and server-side solutions and testing various partners and header bidding analytics tools, there remains a lot of diversity in approaches to header bidding. But the one commonality is the need to closely measure and test all partners. Find out more about the 5 key optimisation steps we recommend publishers to take to make the most of Criteo Direct Bidder.
2. Collaboration Gets Results.
You don’t have to be a massive team to innovate. Being willing to be an early adopter allows you to work together with partners to achieve the best possible results for everyone. And collaboration gives you access to more new features first, allowing you to drive roadmaps. Sound interesting? We’re always looking for more people to join our advisory programme.
3. GDPR is an Evolution not a Revolution.
GDPR is a hot topic for everyone (understandably so, with one month to go!). We discussed how publishers are preparing and adapting for the changes that will go into effect this month. At Criteo, we’ve been hyper-focused on GDPR and the implications it has for the broader digital marketing industry. You can read more at our GDPR Hub.
The event was a great way to share insights and common challenges and opportunities directly with our UK publishers. Thanks again to everyone who took part, we hope to see you at another event soon.
