Challenge
Expanding beyond search and social with a scalable performance channel
GONSER is a Swiss ecommerce retailer offering thousands of products across the sports, leisure, home, and gardening segments. Through its online store, the brand serves consumers across Switzerland with a broad assortment designed to meet a range of everyday home and lifestyle needs.
The brand had historically focused its digital marketing efforts primarily on Google Search and Meta with some investment in Performance Max. With limited experience in display advertising, the brand was looking for a scalable solution to complement its existing always-on marketing strategy and reach new growth opportunities beyond its current channels.
The objective was to identify an additional performance-driven channel that could support both customer acquisition and conversion, while remaining simple to activate and optimize. Criteo GO provided an easy entry point to launch full-funnel campaigns combining acquisition and retargeting capabilities.
Solution
Building a full-funnel strategy with GO Campaigns
GONSER launched with Criteo to establish a full-funnel setup covering both new customer acquisition and existing visitor conversion.
The initial activation included two GO campaigns:
- A new customer acquisition campaign designed to reach and engage potential new shoppers
- A web visitor conversion and retention campaign focused on re-engaging users who had already interacted with the brand
Both campaigns leveraged display and video creatives, enabling GONSER to build consideration while driving measurable performance outcomes across the customer journey.
By bringing acquisition and retargeting together within Criteo’s performance-driven ecosystem, GONSER was able to add a new scalable channel alongside its existing Google and Meta activity.
Results
Building confidence in an always-on strategy
Thanks to the full-funnel GO setup, GONSER and Criteo managed to increase traffic from the display channel by 80% compared to the previous partner and approach, while maintaining the same level of spend. In addition, Criteo exceeded the defined ROAS target by 40%, compared to the previous approach.
These results have strengthened GONSER’s confidence in Criteo as an incremental performance channel, with plans to further scale its campaigns and maintain them as an always-on strategy.
Looking ahead, the brand is also exploring additional opportunities to support key promotional moments, such as Summer Sale and Furniture Sale periods. While these campaigns require more customized setups based on specific product sets, they represent further opportunities to expand Criteo’s contribution beyond always-on activity.
